A new service known as Point of Diagnosis (POD): This service offers support and guidance to families at the point where their child has been diagnosed with a disability or additional support need.
This innovative service provides families with good quality support, to make sense of and come to terms with, the realisation that their child has a disability or additional support need.
Correct, up to date and relevant information and support at the time a child is diagnosed is imperative for any family. Pip offers this services to any families in North Lanarkshire whose child is diagnosed with a disability. Below is a list of areas were we will offer advice, support or signpost to other services.
At this difficult time, PIP offers an information resource and signposting families to the services they require, in response to the changing needs of the child and family. This will help them to look to the future and the opportunities available to their child. This is a free service that families can access. Available within the North Lanarkshire area, it is funded by North Lanarkshire Council Housing and Social Work Services and Learning and Leisure Services.
